Good news coming soon regarding immigration for nail technicians.
Starting November 16, 2022, federal and provincial immigration agencies will adopt the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 system, replacing the old NOC 2016 system. What benefits does this offer nail technicians?
According to the new classification system, nail technicians are now in TEER 3, equivalent to NOC B. Previously, nail technicians were classified as NOC C. Being in TEER 3 or NOC B offers the following benefits:

For workers, spouses and children can obtain open work permits. Previously, NOC C permits were not available.

Being included in the Express Entry system now gives you the opportunity to apply for immigration through Express Entry programs. Previously, this was not possible.
Finally, the nail industry has been officially recognized as a skilled worker!
Those who haven't yet processed the paperwork for their spouse/child to come over should start preparing.
If the salon owner wants to hire technicians from Vietnam and bring their families over, they should start doing so now, as the LMIA (License for Nail Salons) is currently very favorable.
