BC PNP - (Worker) Health Authority stream

The Health Authority stream under Skills Immigration - BC PNP is for workers employed in the healthcare sector who have a job offer from a health authority in British Columbia.

Successfully nominated candidates can apply for permanent residence in Canada.

Conditions and requirements

• Job offer: Occupation must be on the Health Authority eligible list
• Employment: Must have a full-time, indeterminate job offer (no end date) from a BC health authority
• Employer support: Must have the support of an authorized representative from the health authority and submit a completed Employer Declaration Form before applying
• Professional qualifications: Meet the minimum requirements for the occupation (licensure, registration, professional certification, etc.)
• Work experience: Meet the experience requirements as stipulated by the BC PNP and the BC health authority
• Education: Meet the educational requirements mandated by the BC health authority
• Language: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4
• Salary: Meet minimum salary and income requirements

Occupations and procedures to note

Please consult the list of eligible Health Authority occupations. For example: NOC 33102 requires registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry; dental assistant NOC 33100 requires a license; NOC 42201 requires a diploma/degree in social services or community health services.

The Health Authority stream has an Express Entry BC option if candidates meet both provincial and federal program requirements. The Skills Immigration application fee is currently $1,750 CAD.

The Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support is a specific initiative for certain cleaning/security staff working in eligible regions; one should not assume that every job within a health authority falls under the Health Authority stream.
