Choose the correct type of check before fingerprinting
Submit your request letter and purpose of use to distinguish between a standard criminal record check, a fingerprint-based certified criminal record check, and a vulnerable sector check. Fingerprints for a police check are not the same as biometrics for an IRCC application.
If you require a vulnerable sector check, it must be performed by your local police as regulated; accredited fingerprinting agencies cannot issue all types of VSC. See RCMP – Where to go.
We provide support in preparing information and guiding clients on requesting the correct type of Canadian criminal record check from the police or an RCMP-accredited fingerprinting agency.
Service fees and estimated budget
KeyApply service fee: 125 CAD for the scope of the standard package below, excluding applicable taxes.
The order price includes only the KeyApply service fee. Government fees are paid separately by the client based on actual rates. Shipping/delivery fees are also paid separately by the client.
- Estimated government fees: The RCMP federal processing fee is typically 25 CAD when applicable; some purposes are exempt. Fees for local police or fingerprinting agencies are paid separately according to their quotes.
- Total expected service and government fees: 150 CAD when the 25 CAD RCMP fee applies, excluding fingerprinting/agency fees, taxes, shipping, and other separately stated charges.
- KeyApply estimated shipping budget: 15–35 CAD per shipment within Canada; 50–100 CAD per shipment internationally. This is not a carrier quote; actual costs depend on the address, number of shipments, weight, and speed. Receiving electronic copies or picking up at our office incurs no shipping fees from KeyApply.
Clients may pay government fees directly when permitted by the agency, or pay them separately for KeyApply to submit on their behalf as agreed. Any costs outside the package will be notified for client approval before proceeding. Estimates are subject to change based on document type and agency fee schedules at the time of submission.

- Guide clients on identification documents and information needed to book appointments with the appropriate agency.
- Assist in preparing information and monitoring progress within the limits allowed by the issuing agency.

Notes
KeyApply provides administrative support; we do not issue RCMP results or perform fingerprinting ourselves unless accredited. Clients must personally complete identity verification/fingerprinting with an appropriate agency. A Vulnerable Sector Check must be performed with local police as regulated; it is not included in this package.
Clients must review and confirm all information before submission. Processing times and results are determined by the agency. KeyApply is a private support entity; clients may choose to apply directly to the competent authorities.
