Steps to follow
A certificate of single status is a document required for the following individuals who wish to return to Vietnam to marry a Vietnamese citizen:
- Canadian citizens
- Vietnamese citizens residing in Canada for more than 6 months.

The required documents will vary depending on the volume of paperwork; all must be translated into Vietnamese, notarized, and legalized by the consulate.
THE FILE INCLUDES:
According to regulations, documents are valid for six (06) months from the date of issuance. Therefore, you should not obtain a certificate of single status too far before the date of marriage registration.

Marriage health certificate: You can obtain this from a doctor or clinic. Clearly confirm that the applicant does not suffer from mental illness or sexually transmitted infections (especially HIV/AIDS), along with medical examination reports and blood test results concluding that they are healthy enough to marry. |

In cases where it is not possible to travel to Vietnam to submit marriage or divorce documents, a Power of Attorney ( Form UQ/LS ) must be prepared, certified by a lawyer, notary public, or sworn official, and two copies of the Personal Information Form ( Form LLKH ) and two Marriage Registration Application Forms ( Form ĐKKH ) must be completed, each with a recent photograph.
