Nova Scotia Skilled Worker

This is the current stream for individuals with a permanent, full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia employer. As of February 18, 2026, the Critical Construction Worker, Physician, and Occupations in Demand streams have been consolidated as sub-criteria under the Skilled Worker stream.

Key Eligibility

• Permanent, full-time job offer in Nova Scotia.
• Typically requires at least 1 year of related experience; TEER 4–5 positions generally require at least 6 months of paid experience with the same Nova Scotia employer.
• Aged 21–55, except for certain physician criteria.
• Minimum high school education and meeting the training/licensing requirements for the occupation.
• TEER 0–3: CLB 5; TEER 4–5: CLB 4.
• Sufficient financial resources to settle.

Sub-criteria

Construction: Job offer in the construction sector and an NOC eligible according to the provincial list.

Physician: Physician requirements are processed under the Skilled Worker stream as requested by Nova Scotia Health/IWK.

Occupations in Demand: The government website currently lists no occupations under this sub-criterion.

EOI and Fees

New applications begin with an EOI. EOIs submitted from May 1, 2026, are valid for 12 months. An EOI does not guarantee selection. As of September 1, 2026, the worker application fee is 1,000 CAD when an EOI is selected for assessment; there is no fee to submit an EOI.
