Canadian documents for use in Vietnam: Apostille
Starting September 11, 2026, public documents falling under the Convention and the relationship between Canada and Vietnam may use an Apostille instead of consular legalization. Notarization, Apostille, and the drafting of powers of attorney are distinct processes; an Apostille does not certify the content of a transaction.
Verify the document type and the requirements of the receiving authority in Vietnam. Powers of attorney drafted directly at a consular office have their own specific procedures; not every file requires the full Notary → Apostille → Embassy route.

Service fees and estimated budget
KeyApply service fee: 250 CAD for the standard package scope below, excluding applicable taxes.
Order prices only include the KeyApply service fee. Government fees are paid separately by the client at the actual rate. Shipping fees are also paid separately by the client.
- Estimated government fees: 16–32 CAD per document when submitted in Ontario; some filings with Global Affairs Canada do not charge authentication fees.
- Total estimated service and government fees: 266–282 CAD per document submitted in Ontario, excluding taxes, shipping, and additional items mentioned separately.
- Shipping budget estimate by KeyApply: 15–35 CAD/trip within Canada; 50–100 CAD/trip internationally. This is not a carrier quote; actual prices depend on address, number of trips, weight, and speed. Receiving digital copies or picking up at the office incurs no shipping fees from KeyApply.
Clients may pay government fees directly when permitted by the agency, or pay separately for KeyApply to submit on their behalf as agreed. Any costs outside the package will be notified for client approval before proceeding. Estimates may change based on document type and agency fee levels at the time of submission.
Scope of support
- Identify the certifying agency based on the place of issuance and notarization of the document.
- Verify documents, information about the destination country, and specific requirements.
- Includes one instance of certified true copying or witnessing a simple signature at the office by an authorized notary, if needed and the document is eligible.
- Prepare and submit files via the standard method and monitor for additional requests.

Notes
The receiving country determines the requirement for an Apostille or subsequent authentication and consular legalization. Consular fees, translation, legal drafting, multiple documents, or expedited/in-person processing are not included in the single-document package; separate quotes provided before service.
Clients must review and confirm information before submission. Processing times and results are determined by the relevant authorities. KeyApply is a private support provider; clients may choose to request services directly from the competent authorities.
