PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A CERTIFICATE OF VIETNAMESE NATIONALITY

Note: The procedure for issuing a certificate of Vietnamese nationality only applies to Vietnamese citizens who still hold a valid Vietnamese passport. In cases where the applicant no longer has a Vietnamese passport or the passport has been expired for a long time (even if they still have a birth certificate), the citizen must go through the procedure to verify their nationality and apply for a First-time Passport. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

You need to email KeyApply (info@keyapply.com) a dossier including:

• Application for a Certificate of Vietnamese Nationality (download form TP/QT-1999 D.1 Word or pdf). Fill in all details in the application, clearly stating the purpose of the request.
• 01 3x4 photo taken within the last 3 months;
• Scanned copy of your national ID card or a valid Vietnamese passport (include the original for comparison) or;
• Scanned copy of one of the following documents proving Vietnamese nationality (these documents are for reference only and do not guarantee the issuance of a Certificate of Vietnamese Nationality):
  • Decree or Decision granting or restoring Vietnamese nationality;
  • Decision recognizing the adoption of a foreign child;
  • Certificate of citizenship registration issued by a Vietnamese diplomatic or consular mission;
  • Household registration book (So ho khau);
  • Most recent voter card;
  • Birth certificate, accompanied by documents proving the nationality of the parents;
  • In the absence of the above documents, submit an Affidavit regarding your date of birth, place of birth, hometown, place of residence; the names, ages, nationalities, and places of residence of your parents, and family background (must be witnessed by at least 02 people who are well-informed of the matter and certified by the People's Committee of the commune where the person was born) or a Biographical Declaration (download form TP/QT-1999-C2a Word or pdf). Fill in all details in the form and attach 01 4x6 photo taken within the last 3 months.
