PROCEDURES FOR APPLYING FOR A CERTIFICATE OF VIETNAMESE CITIZENSHIP

Note: The procedure for obtaining a certificate of Vietnamese nationality only applies to Vietnamese citizens who still possess a valid Vietnamese passport. In cases where a Vietnamese passport is no longer available or has expired long ago (even if a birth certificate is still available), citizens need to go through the procedure to re-verify their nationality and obtain a new passport .

THE FILE INCLUDES:

You need to email KeyApply (info@keyapply.com) the following documents:

• Application for a Certificate of Vietnamese International Cooperation (download form TP/QT-1999 D.1) Word or (pdf ). Fill in all the details in the application form, clearly stating the purpose of the application.
• One 3x4 photograph taken within the last 3 months;
• A scanned copy of a valid Vietnamese national identity card or passport (with the original for verification) or;
• A scanned copy of one of the following documents proving Vietnamese nationality (these documents are for reference only and do not determine whether you will be granted a Vietnamese Nationality Certificate):
  • Decrees and Decisions granting or restoring Vietnamese citizenship;
  • Decision to recognize the adoption of a child by a foreign national;
  • Certificate of citizen registration issued by Vietnamese diplomatic and consular agencies;
  • Household registration book;
  • The latest resident card;
  • Birth certificate, along with documents proving the nationality of the father and mother;
  • If the above documents are unavailable, submit a Declaration of Honor stating your date of birth, place of birth, hometown, and place of residence; the full name, age, nationality, and place of residence of your parents and family origins (must be witnessed by at least two people who know the facts and confirmed by the People's Committee of the commune where the applicant was born) or a Personal Information Form (download the TP/QT-1999-C2a Word template or (pdf ). Fill in all the details in the application form and attach one 4x6 photo taken within the last 3 months.
