CONNECTING FAMILY MEMBERS TO THE SASKATCHEWAN LABOUR MARKET
This is not an independent family sponsorship program. Relatives living in Saskatchewan can support International Skilled Worker candidates with job searching, settlement, and in some cases, help the candidate receive connection points on the SINP points grid.
Connection points
An eligible close family relative in Saskatchewan can help a candidate receive 20 points on the International Skilled Worker points grid. Eligible relationships may include parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, first cousins, and equivalent step/in-law relationships.
The relative must prove their relationship, citizenship/PR status, and residency in Saskatchewan as required by the SINP. One close family member/household can only support one application at a time under current regulations.
If a candidate has an eligible Saskatchewan employment offer, the job offer may provide additional points and open the possibility of applying under the appropriate stream.
