Bachelor's requirements and international applications

First-year bachelor's: completion of a high school program that qualifies for university entry in the home country. Submit the Common Application, a 100 USD non-refundable fee, certified transcripts/English translations, and English proficiency scores. SAT/ACT and letters of recommendation are not required per admission guidelines.

English proficiency for entry

Most colleges require an IELTS 6.5, with Writing and Speaking at 6.0 and other sections at 5.5; or a Duolingo 100 total score, with Production and Conversation at 100. TOEFL has its own total and section standards. The College-Conservatory of Music and Nursing have separate charts; check your major before choosing a test. Scores must be valid for two years prior to the intake term.

Master's and doctoral programs

Graduate: standard requirement is IELTS Academic 6.5, Duolingo 110, PTE 54, or TOEFL 80/new scale 4.5. Some programs have higher requirements. A relevant degree is required, with individual documentation per major; international degrees require a NACES credential evaluation to finalize registration. The international application fee for most degree programs is 70 USD.
