Over the past few days, we have received numerous messages from the Vietnamese community in Canada and Vietnam expressing deep interest in the Strong Borders Act – Bill C-2, which was announced by the Canadian government a few days ago, on June 17, 2025.
💬 Questions and concerns submitted by the community include:
- Does the government have the right to revoke immigration documents (visa, work permit, study permit) that have already been issued?
- What steps will a person be required to take if they are deemed to be acting against the public interest of Canada when applying for a visa and immigration documents?
- Will international students be affected in any way if they switch to applying for asylum?
- Who can the government share my information with? Will my privacy be compromised?
- If my asylum application is rejected due to the new law, are there any other options?
🎯 To help the community understand the new law and protect their legal rights, KeyApply is pleased to invite Attorney Phan Thanh - a member of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association, an Immigration Law Lecturer, and an expert with many years of experience in immigration law in Canada - to participate in an online seminar to answer questions submitted by our esteemed audience.
