- Federal Start-Up Visa: A key requirement is achieving a CLB score of 5 in English/French.
- Alberta Rural Entrepreneurship Program: The Alberta Rural Entrepreneurship Investment Program is a worthwhile option to consider if your English is at CLB 4 level.
- If you work in the arts or sports and are involved in activities both domestically and internationally, you might want to explore the Self-Employed program. This program does not require foreign language skills.
- If you have business management experience but lack language qualifications, the "Business Work Permit - Significant Benefit Contribution" program or intracompany transfer is a good option for you to have a viable pathway to settle in Canada.
- For graduates in Canada, you can also start a business to support your immigration application through the following programs:
- Nova Scotia International Graduate Entrepreneur: You own at least one-third of the shares in a Nova Scotia business and have one year of experience managing that business.
- Saskatchewan International Graduate Entrepreneur: You must own at least one-third of the shares in a business in Saskatchewan and have operated that business for at least one year before applying.
- Alberta International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: You will need to establish a new business or take over an existing business in Alberta and own at least 34% of the shares.
- Newfoundland International Graduate Entrepreneur: You must own at least one-third of the shares in a Newfoundland business and have at least one year of active experience managing that business. Your business must create at least one new job, and you can start a new business or take over an existing one in the province.
- Manitoba International Student Entrepreneur Pilot: You must have operated a business in Manitoba as a day-to-day senior manager for at least six months prior to nomination while holding a valid temporary work permit, in accordance with the requirements of your Business Performance Agreement (BPA). You must own a minimum of 51% of the business capital.
