How many cases are eligible for an LMIA?

There are seven possible scenarios for applying for an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) to recruit foreign workers:

  1. Global Talent Stream : Hire highly skilled talent from overseas.
  2. Agricultural stream : Hiring workers in agricultural sectors.
  3. Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program: Hiring seasonal agricultural workers
  4. Permanent Residence Stream : Applying for an LMIA helps workers gain points in the Express Entry system. Employers with employees who need to increase their points can apply for this LMIA, called a "dual intent Labour Market Impact Assessment ( LMIA )".
  5. In-home caregivers : Hiring caregivers for children, the elderly, or people with disabilities at home.
  6. High-wage stream : Hiring employees in high-level positions and with high salaries, for example, senior managers or highly skilled professionals.
  7. Low-wage stream : Hiring workers for low-wage positions, such as nail technicians, cooks, kitchen assistants, etc.
