Established as a memorial to the Newfoundlanders who lost their lives on active service during the First World War and subsequent conflicts, Memorial University of Newfoundland draws inspiration from the sacrifices of the past as they help to build a better future for the province, the country and the world.

And a short car ride away is Gros Morne National Park, a world heritage site with marine inlets, rich forest and glacier-carved fjords.
