In summary, applying for a Canadian Start-Up Visa can be complex, but with thorough preparation and support from KeyApply and a legal immigration representative, you will achieve your goals of establishing a business and settling in Canada.

What's the next step after submitting the application?

After submitting your application, you will need to have your fingerprints taken and your photo captured. Your fingerprints and photo will be used for identity verification. Therefore, you should schedule an appointment for fingerprinting and photo capture as soon as possible when required to avoid missing the processing deadline.

After receiving your application, immigration officers will begin evaluating your Start-Up Visa application. They will verify that you have completed all forms correctly, signed them, paid the processing fee, and included all necessary documents. If you forget or omit anything, your application will not be processed and will be returned to you.

You need to inform the visa office of any changes to your personal information, such as your address, phone number, email address, or if you have additional children.

Your application may be delayed if you have security issues, or if the immigration authorities need to conduct more background checks. Additionally, your application may be delayed if your family situation is unclear, such as a divorce, an incomplete adoption, or unresolved child custody issues.

Alternatively, you can apply for a work permit to travel to Canada while your application is being processed. You can then go to Canada and start building your business.

After you receive a temporary work permit, you can work for up to 24 months with it. Once your PR application is reviewed and approved, you can apply to extend your temporary work permit.

After submitting your application, you will also be required to undergo a health check and a criminal record check before immigrating to Canada. You need to ensure that your health does not pose a danger or safety to the Canadian community, nor does it place an excessive burden on Canada's healthcare and social systems. The immigration department will send you a letter with instructions on how to complete the health check procedure.

If you have a criminal record, you may be denied immigration to Canada. To immigrate to Canada, you and all family members aged 18 and over must provide a criminal record check, if requested. You need to have a criminal history from each country or territory where you have lived continuously for at least six months since you turned 18.

The immigration office will review your application if you meet the eligibility criteria, have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family when you arrive in Canada, and pass the health check and police clearance requirements. The immigration office will contact you if you need to submit additional documents or attend an interview.

If your application is approved, you will be asked to submit your passports to receive permanent residency visas for you and your family. This visa includes a Certificate of Permanent Residence (COPR) and an entry visa.
