AB PNP - (Worker) Alberta Immigration Program - Express Entry Stream

The Alberta Express Entry Stream, part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), provides immigration opportunities for eligible individuals who already have a profile in the federal Express Entry system. Alberta may send Notification of Interest letters or invitations to apply based on the information in the applicant's profile.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for a Notification of Interest or an invitation to apply, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

• Valid Express Entry Profile : Applicants must have an active Express Entry profile within the federal system and meet the requirements of at least one of the following federal immigration programs:
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Primary occupation : The primary occupation in your Express Entry profile must be an occupation that is in demand in Alberta or related to the province's priority economic sectors and occupations.
• CRS score : Candidates must have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300.
• Living and working in Alberta : Applicants must intend to live and work permanently in Alberta and have expressed a desire to immigrate permanently to the province.
• Not on the list of ineligible occupations : Your primary occupation is not on the list of ineligible occupations for the Alberta Opportunity Stream program.
• Eligibility requirements : The applicant is not currently seeking asylum or subject to federal appeals, and has no prior record of being denied for fraud.

Factors that Increase Your Chances of Choice:

• I received a job offer from an employer in Alberta.
• I have graduated from a post-secondary educational institution in Canada.
• Having relatives (parents, children, or siblings) who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in Alberta.
• French was my first language.
• The Express Entry profile must be valid for more than 5 months.

Roadmap and Priority Areas:

In 2024, AAIP will prioritize selection based on the following pathways and fields:

• Family connections : Applicants must have parents, children, or siblings living in Alberta and working in occupations that are in demand.
• Healthcare Pathway : Candidates receive job offers from healthcare employers in Alberta.
• Technology Pathway : Candidates who are currently working in the technology sector or have received job offers from technology companies in Alberta.
• Law Enforcement Pathway : Candidates will work in law enforcement in Alberta.
• Priority sectors : Agriculture, construction, tourism and hospitality.
