The Alberta Tourism and Hospitality Immigration Program, part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), allows applicants with work experience in the tourism and hospitality sector in Alberta to apply for nomination to become permanent residents in Canada.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Approved tourism and hospitality business : Applicants must be employed by a legitimate employer in the tourism and hospitality industry, with a job offer from a business in this sector.

Eligible business sector : Employers in Alberta must be in one of the eligible sectors listed in the Alberta Labour Compensation Board (WCB) sector codes or an exempted sector.
- Eligible sectors include: museums, animal farms, bowling alleys, ski resorts, casinos, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, property management, etc.
- Membership in industry associations : Employers in Alberta must be members of one of the eligible industry associations such as the Alberta Hotel and Accommodation Association (AHLA), the Alberta Tourism Association (TIAA), etc.
Occupational Requirements:
- Eligible occupations : Applicants must have worked in one of the eligible occupation codes, including restaurant and hotel service manager, head chef, food service staff, hotel receptionist, tour guide, cleaning staff, etc.
- Work experience : At the time of application, applicants must have at least six months of full-time work experience with their current employer in a valid occupation in Alberta.
- Job Offer : Applicants must have a job offer or full-time employment contract from an employer in Alberta that meets the occupation and minimum employment requirements.
Language Requirements:
- Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 4 in each skill on the English (CELPIP or IELTS) or French (TEF or TCF) language test.
- The language test results must be valid for two years from the date of application.
Educational Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed at least a program of study equivalent to a high school diploma in Canada.
- An Educational Assessment Certificate (ECA) issued by an IRCC-designated organization is required, unless the qualification is from a valid Canadian educational institution.
