Another important factor that nobody tells you about?
In addition to the criteria mentioned on the government website, there are several other important factors to consider when applying for the Canadian self-employed immigration program. One crucial factor is your ability to establish a financially stable life for your family in Canada.
There isn't a specific list of factors that visa officers will consider when making a decision. However, you must demonstrate that you believe you can establish a financially stable life for your family in Canada. In our experience, a key factor in making a positive decision is having a solid financial record and readily available funds to achieve financial independence in Canada. Therefore, the more money you have, the greater your chances of achieving financial stability in Canada.
If you have significant financial assets, provide as much evidence as possible, including bank statements, investment reports, tax returns, and property documents. Providing accurate information and evidence about your finances will increase your chances of success in the Canadian self-employed immigration program.
What's the next step after submitting the application?
After submitting your application, you will need to have your fingerprints taken and your photo captured. Your fingerprints and photo will be used for identity verification. Therefore, you should schedule an appointment for fingerprinting and photo capture as soon as possible when required to avoid missing the processing deadline.
After receiving your application, the immigration officer will begin reviewing it. The officer will verify that you have completed all forms correctly, signed them, paid the processing fee, and included all necessary documents. If you forget or omit anything, your application will not be processed and will be returned to you.
You need to inform the visa office of any changes to your personal information, such as your address, phone number, email address, or if you have additional children.
Your application may be delayed if you have security issues, or if the immigration authorities need to conduct more background checks. Additionally, your application may be delayed if your family situation is unclear, such as divorce, incomplete adoption, or unresolved child custody issues, etc.
Alternatively, you can apply for a work permit to come to Canada while your application is being processed. You can then go to Canada and start building your career.
After you receive a temporary work permit, you can work for up to 24 months with it. Once your PR application is reviewed and approved, you can apply to extend your temporary work permit.
After submitting your application, you will also be required to undergo a health check and a criminal record check before immigrating to Canada. You need to ensure that your health does not pose a danger or safety to the Canadian community, nor does it place an excessive burden on Canada's healthcare and social systems. The immigration department will send you a letter with instructions on how to complete the health check procedure.
If you have a criminal record, you may be denied immigration to Canada. To immigrate to Canada, you and all family members aged 18 and over must provide a criminal record check, if requested. You need to have a criminal history from each country or territory where you have lived continuously for at least six months since you turned 18.
The immigration office will review your application if you meet the eligibility criteria, have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family when you arrive in Canada, and pass the health check and police clearance requirements. The immigration office will contact you if you need to submit additional documents or attend an interview.
If your application is approved, you will be asked to submit your passports to receive permanent residency visas for you and your family. This visa includes a Certificate of Permanent Residence (COPR) and an entry visa.
