The Alberta Dedicated Health Care Pathway, part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), provides an opportunity for individuals with job offers in Alberta in eligible healthcare occupations to immigrate. Applicants can apply for nomination through two channels: Express Entry and Non-Express Entry .

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer in the healthcare sector that meets the specified criteria.

Eligible Healthcare Occupations:

Eligible healthcare occupations include:

  • Physician – College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
  • Registered Nurses (RNs) – College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Practical Nurses (LPNs) – College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Professional Nurses (NPs) – College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Physician Assistant – College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
  • Physiotherapist – College of Physiotherapist of Alberta (CPA)
  • Clinical Social Worker – Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW)
  • Psychologist – College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)

Requirements for the Express Entry Route:

  • Job offer : A valid job offer from a healthcare employer in Alberta, based on insurance from the Alberta Workers' Compensation Board (WCB), is required.
  • Express Entry Profile : Applicants must have an Express Entry profile and achieve a minimum CRS ranking score of 300.
  • Professional certification : Provides evidence that the applicant is qualified to practice in the healthcare field in Alberta from the relevant licensing organizations.
  • Federal immigration requirements : Meet the criteria of at least one of the federal immigration programs administered by the Express Entry system, such as the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, or the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
  • Language : Achieve at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in all skills or meet the language requirements for healthcare occupations in Alberta.

Requirements for Non-Express Entry Route:

  • Job offer : A valid job offer from a healthcare employer in Alberta is required.
  • Professional certification : Applicants must provide evidence of their eligibility to practice in the healthcare field as required by regulations.
  • Language : Achieve CLB 5 in all skills or provide official language test results if language requirements are not met through the licensing process.
  • Work permit : A valid work permit or legal temporary residence status is required when submitting your application.
