A71/C90/C91 – Work Permit support for legacy caregiver applications

Assistance with work permit assessments related to caregiver applications under legacy programs; no new PR applications are accepted for closed pilots.

Target audience and key conditions

• A71: Live-in Caregiver group that has met the PR/OWP conditions under legacy programs.
• C90: Occupation-restricted OWP under HCCPP/HSWP for applications processed within the gaining experience group.
• C91: Spouses and working-age children eligible through the C90 principal applicant; A75 may be considered after meeting PR requirements.

Required documentation

Legacy PR application, IRCC letters, work permits, proof of experience, and family documents.

Important notes

HCCPP/HSWP ended on June 17, 2024; the Live-in Caregiver program is no longer accepting new applicants. Support is only provided for applications currently being processed or already within the program.

LMIA exemption does not waive the need to meet work permit requirements. Work permits and permanent residency are assessed separately.
