Vietnam Visa Exemption and related services

IMPORTANT NOTES

• KeyApply only supports connections and procedural assistance with the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada or the Consulate General of Vietnam in Vancouver. All forms and processes strictly follow the regulations of Vietnamese authorities.
• KeyApply will not fulfill personal requests if the content contradicts consular regulations.

• Document shipping depends entirely on the courier service. In the event of incidents (strikes, delays, loss, incorrect delivery, etc.), you must cooperate to resolve the issue. Problems occurring during transit are subject to the policies and decisions of the courier.

Vietnam Visa Exemption Certificate (5-year visa)

KeyApply assists with the preparation and coordination of applications for a Visa Exemption Certificate at Vietnamese representative offices in Canada. Approval and the actual duration granted are decided by the competent authorities.

1. Who is eligible to apply?

• Vietnamese residing abroad who do not hold a Vietnamese passport.
• Foreigners who are spouses or children of Vietnamese citizens or Vietnamese residing abroad.

2. Validity and duration of stay

The Visa Exemption Certificate is valid for a maximum of 5 years, but must expire at least 6 months before the expiration of the passport or related residency document. Each entry may allow a stay of up to 6 months, subject to the decision of Vietnamese immigration authorities. These are two separate time limits.

3. Documents to prepare

1. Application form for the Visa Exemption Certificate according to the current template required by the consular office.
2. A valid foreign passport; the Embassy recommends having at least 15 months of validity to facilitate the application process.
3. 2 color photos taken within the last 6 months, white background, facing forward, no hats or tinted glasses. Photos can be taken with a smartphone if they are clear, well-lit, and meet ID photo requirements; do not use filters or edits that alter facial features.
4. People of Vietnamese origin: Vietnamese birth certificate, old Vietnamese passport, National ID/Citizen ID, or other documents proving Vietnamese nationality or origin.
5. Foreign spouses or children: Marriage certificate or birth certificate proving the relationship, and documents proving the Vietnamese nationality or origin of the relative.
6. Certified/notarized copies of documents as required by the consular office; keep the originals for verification if requested.

Note: A person's Visa Exemption Certificate is not automatically sufficient proof to grant one to their spouse or children. The application must provide evidence of the relationship and the relative's eligibility as required.

4. Process and special notes

1. Submit information and documents to KeyApply for an initial completeness check.
2. Complete the application form and notarize or certify copies if necessary.
3. Submit the application via the method accepted by the representative office and wait for processing.
4. Receive the Visa Exemption Certificate, either as a visa sticker in the passport or as a separate document, depending on the application.

Applications involving changes to name, gender, or personal information: Do not automatically assume eligibility. Documents and evidence of the changes must be verified, and the consular office should be consulted regarding additional requirements. Expedited service: Only considered when the application is complete and the processing authority is able to accommodate; there is no guarantee regarding the timeframe or the approval result.
