A70 – Work Permit for certain PR applicants in Canada
The R207 category is for eligible individuals under certain PR classes in Canada, protected persons, and qualifying family members.
Target audience and key requirements
- Protected persons under A95(2), or individuals who have been determined eligible for H&C/applicable PR classes.
- SCLPC after the eligibility stage and in-Canada family members may be included.
- Must meet the requirements of the specific R207 provision.
Documents to prepare
Protected person decision/AIP/eligibility letter, evidence of PR application and family members, passport, and residency records.
Notes
Submitting an H&C application alone does not constitute grounds for A70. Work permits under certain provisions do not automatically create temporary resident status.
LMIA exemption still requires meeting work permit issuance criteria. Work permits and permanent residence applications are processed separately.
