1. Institution Overview
Cambrian College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach is to start by selecting your field of study and credential type, then cross-reference admission requirements, campus, duration, and budget.
2. Location and Learning Environment
Location: Sudbury. As a multi-campus institution, not all programs are available at every location. Before signing a lease or booking travel, confirm your study location and delivery format (in-person, hybrid, or online) on your letter of acceptance and the program webpage. Create a separate budget for housing, food, transportation, insurance, and costs for accompanying family members.
3. Academic Programs
Fields of study in the college catalog include business, technology, engineering, skilled trades, health, and community services. Program types include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, and various degrees/graduate certificates. The general college catalog and the catalog open to international students may differ; ensure you select a program currently accepting applications for your intended intake.
Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you wish to transfer credits, verify credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the actual number of credits recognized. For co-op, practicum, or placement opportunities, determine if they are mandatory or elective, participation conditions, and required documentation.
4. Admissions and Application Requirements
The college assesses applications based on specific program requirements and the educational equivalency of your home country. Applicants must compare their diplomas, transcripts, and prerequisite subjects (such as English, math, or science) against the specific requirements on each program page. Post-diploma programs may require a relevant college/university degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and clinical programs may require additional documentation.
Prepare your passport, degrees, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the college. Check total scores, individual skill requirements, and certificate validity dates for your specific level of study; there is no universal IELTS score for every program. English pathways/EAP and exemption conditions must be confirmed separately. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or full.
5. International Tuition and Budgeting
The 2026–27 international table shows Business – Accounting (BUAP), Semester 1 Fall 2026 and Semester 2 Winter 2027, with tuition of 8,234.62 CAD per semester: 16,469.24 CAD for two semesters of tuition. Ancillary fees vary by semester and are charged in addition; check the actual fees for your specific program when registering. View official fee schedule.
Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement costs, and living expenses. When the table lists prices per semester or credit, you must sum the correct number of semesters/credits for your pathway. Deposits are typically applied to your tuition account; read refund conditions and deadlines before paying. The tuition tag on KeyApply, where available, only helps compare institutions relatively—similar to how Master's & PhD groups are classified—and does not replace a formal program fee quote.
6. Scholarships and Financial Aid
Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding program, academic year, academic performance, documentation, and international student status. Check if each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, and review submission deadlines and maintenance requirements. Do not consider a scholarship as guaranteed until you have received formal written confirmation from the college.
7. Intake Periods and Enrollment Status
Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify if the program offers that specific term, the relevant campus, deadlines for document submission, and deposit payment dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify these before assisting with your application.
8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP
DLI Number: O19394699409. Use the code and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. As a public institution, having a DLI status does not imply that every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Before registering, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, its CIP code, and applicable field of study requirements, credential type, learning format, and the applicant's academic history. Under current IRCC guidance, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree generally require a CLB/NCLC 5 in all four skills; program-specific requirements apply if your study permit application is submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exceptions. Bachelor's degree programs have separate regulations.
Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time status, PGWP application deadlines, and online learning regulations. English-only programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different rules. LOAs, PALs/TALs (if needed), and study permits are separate steps; the college does not grant immigration permits. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year term, job placement, or permanent residency.
