1. Introduction to the College

Canadore College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach is to start by selecting a field of study and credential type, then verify the admission requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and Learning Environment

Locations: North Bay and Parry Sound. For a multi-campus institution, not all programs are available at every campus. Before renting accommodation or booking flights, confirm the study location and the mode of delivery (in-person, hybrid, or online) via your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the program webpage. Create a separate budget for housing, meals, transportation, insurance, and costs for any accompanying family members.

3. Academic Programs

Fields of study to explore in the college catalog include business, technology, aviation, health, community services, and trades. Program types include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, and degrees/graduate certificates according to the catalog. The overall college catalog and the catalog open to international students may differ; you must select a program currently accepting applications for your intended intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you wish to pursue credit transfer, check the transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For programs with co-ops, practicums, or placements, identify whether they are mandatory or elective, the conditions for participation, and the required documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

The college assesses applications based on specific program requirements and the equivalency of credentials from the country of study. Applicants must cross-reference their diplomas, transcripts, prerequisites (such as English, math, or science), and individual requirements found on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant diploma/degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and practical programs may require additional documentation.

Prepare your passport, diplomas, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the college. Check the overall score, individual band requirements, and the validity period of certificates for your specific level of study; a single IELTS score does not apply to all programs. English/EAP pathways and waiver conditions must be confirmed separately. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or has reached capacity.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

Example: Personal Support Worker at the College Drive Campus, 2026–27 academic year: international tuition 16,013.96 CAD, ancillary fees 2,012.55 CAD, and material fee 577 CAD, totaling 18,603.51 CAD for a one-year program. Costs for books, cohort-specific eText/eResources, uniforms, equipment, and living expenses may be additional; do not apply this figure to all programs. Official fee source.

Distinguish tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living expenses. When the fee schedule is listed by term or credit, you must multiply it by the correct number of terms/credits in your study plan. Deposits are typically applied toward tuition; read the refund policy and deadlines before making payment. The tuition tags on KeyApply, where available, serve only for relative comparison between schools, similar to Master’s & PhD classification; they do not replace official program fee schedules.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding program, academic year, academic performance, application records, and international student status. Check whether each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, as well as submission deadlines and renewal requirements. Do not consider scholarships as guaranteed funding until you receive written confirmation from the college.

7. Intakes and Enrollment Status

Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify if the program offers that specific term, the campus, document submission deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended may change; KeyApply will verify this again before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19395535239. Use the DLI number and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. Being a public institution with a DLI does not mean all programs are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before enrolling, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), the credential type, delivery mode, and your academic history. Per current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees generally require a CLB/NCLC level 5 in all four language skills; field of study requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exemptions. Bachelor's degree programs have separate regulations.

Students must also meet individual criteria such as program duration, full-time status, PGWP application deadlines, and regulations regarding online learning. Stand-alone English programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different regulations. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are separate steps; the college does not grant the permit. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, future employment, or permanent residency.

9. Application Process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your diplomas, transcripts, language certificates (if any), preferred program, intake, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, admission requirements, campuses, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare your application according to the correct checklist, including translations and supporting documents; submit through the official admissions channel as instructed by the college.
  4. Read the offer conditions, complete any missing requirements, and pay the deposit by the deadline as instructed by the college.
  5. Receive the LOA, complete the PAL/TAL steps if applicable, and prepare the study permit application. Immigration consulting is handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
  6. Verify invoices, register for courses, and arrange housing, insurance, and orientation guidance before starting your studies.
