1. About the college

Centennial College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable selection strategy begins with identifying the field of study and type of credential, then verifying entrance requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and learning environment

Location: Toronto, with campuses in Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. The college focuses on applied learning; campuses, laboratory facilities, and placement conditions must be verified based on the specific program. Before renting housing or booking flights, confirm the study location and delivery format on your LOA; create a separate budget for housing, transportation, and living expenses.

3. Academic programs

Fields of study include business, engineering and technology, information technology, transportation, health, community services, and arts and communications. The college offers certificates, diplomas, and post-graduate or other credential pathways depending on the catalog. Only choose programs currently open to international students at the correct campus and intake term.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor’s degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master’s degree. If seeking university transfer, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the actual number of recognized credits. For programs with co-op, practicum, or placement, verify if these are mandatory or elective, the requirements for participation, and necessary documentation.

4. Admission requirements and application

The college evaluates applications based on specific program criteria and the equivalency of credentials from the country of origin. Applicants must cross-reference diplomas, transcripts, prerequisite subjects (such as English, math, or science), and specific requirements on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant diploma/degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with clinical/practical components may require supplementary documentation.

Prepare your passport, degrees, transcripts, required translations, and school-accepted language proficiency certificates. Verify the overall score, individual skill requirements, and certificate validity dates for your specific level of study; a single IELTS score does not apply to all programs. English/EAP pathways and conditions for proficiency waivers must be confirmed separately. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if a program is competitive or has reached capacity.

5. International tuition and budgeting

The sample fee schedule for 2026–2027 shows post-secondary international Year 1 (two semesters): 18,005 CAD in tuition. The Engineering Technology/Applied Science and Transportation groups: 19,167 CAD for the first year (two terms). This excludes ancillary fees; non-average tuition programs have their own rates.

Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living costs. When a table lists prices per term or credit, you must calculate the total based on the exact number of terms/credits in your pathway. Deposits are typically applied to tuition accounts; read the refund policy and deadlines before making any payment. Tuition tags on KeyApply, where available, serve only as a relative comparison tool between institutions, similar to the Master’s & PhD group classification; they do not replace official program fee quotes.

6. Scholarships and financial aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding programs, academic years, academic performance, applicant profiles, and international student status. Check if each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, as well as application deadlines and maintenance requirements. Do not consider a scholarship as guaranteed before receiving written confirmation from the college.

7. Intake terms and admission status

Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify if that program is open for that specific term, at that campus, as well as supplementary document deadlines and deposit due dates. Status such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify this before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, study permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19394700003. Use the code and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. The college is a public institution, but having a DLI does not mean all programs are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before enrolling, verify if the program is PGWP-eligible, check the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), credential type, study format, and your study history. Under current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree typically require CLB/NCLC 5 in all four language skills; field of study requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exceptions. Bachelor’s degree programs have their own specific regulations.

Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time student status, PGWP application deadlines, and online study regulations. Standalone English programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different regulations. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are separate steps; the college does not determine permit issuance. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, employment, or permanent residency.

9. Application process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your degrees, transcripts, language certificates (if any), preferred program, intake term, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, entrance requirements, campuses, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare your application according to the checklist, include translations and supplementary documents; submit through the official admission channel as guided by the college.
  4. Read offer conditions, complete remaining requirements, and pay the deposit by the deadline as instructed by the college.
  5. Receive your LOA, complete the PAL/TAL step if applicable, and prepare your study permit application. Immigration advice is handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
  6. Verify your invoice, register for courses, arrange housing, insurance, and attend orientation before beginning your studies.

10. Official sources

Source verification date: October 9, 2026. The college may update fees and program status after this date.
