1. Introduction to the College
College of the Rockies is a public post-secondary educational institution in British Columbia, Canada, recognized by the IRCC on its DLI list, with international admission guidelines available on the college’s website. This page provides information for selecting programs and preparing applications; students should confirm critical conditions in writing before making payments.
2. Location and Learning Environment
The main campus is in Cranbrook, East Kootenay, British Columbia; the college has locations in other communities throughout the region. The poster uses real photos of the Cranbrook Campus. Some adventure tourism programs are taught in Golden or Fernie, so please verify the correct campus on your letter of acceptance.
3. Academic Programs
The international catalog includes associate degrees, Computer Information Systems Technology, Environmental Studies, Kinesiology, Practical Nursing, business, and various tourism options. For example, the Accounting diploma has an international option; do not assume all online or blended formats satisfy study permit/PGWP requirements. You must check the international program list and the separately marked PGWP-eligible list.
4. Admission Requirements
The college requires you to verify the Admissions Requirements for your program and provide proof of English Language Proficiency when applying. Prepare degrees/transcripts and documentation according to international guidelines; the college will provide instructions on how to submit documents after receiving your application. For programs with prerequisites or additional requirements, please view the current program page. Do not use domestic transcripts or criteria from one program for all applications.
5. International Tuition
Example: 2026–2027 Accounting diploma: international tuition is 16,830.90 CAD/year for years 1 and 2. Year 1 also includes a 100 CAD international application fee, a one-time 100 CAD International Education Fee, 174.12 CAD for labs, 69 CAD for the student union, 100 CAD for a bus pass, 240 CAD for health/dental, and 270 CAD for Guard.me according to the program table. Books/supplies are not included; lab fees may vary by elective. This is an example for Accounting and is not the general rate for all programs or a quote for the 2027–2028 academic year.
6. Scholarships and Financial Aid
Check the Financial Aid/Awards section and the college’s international guide to find suitable scholarships or bursaries. Conditions regarding citizenship/residency, programs, achievements, and deadlines vary for each award. Do not assume international students are eligible for all support available to Canadians; do not count scholarships as a confirmed source of funding until a specific award has been confirmed.
7. Intake Semesters and Admission Status
Many associate programs have September and January intakes; Accounting lists Fall (September). Engineering or health programs have their own schedules. You must confirm that the program still has space for international students before paying any fees. November 13, 2026, on the fee page is the payment deadline for Winter 2027 for semester-based programs, not the international application deadline for all programs.
8. DLI and PGWP
DLI: O19377233362. The institution is public, and being on the DLI list does not mean that all programs are eligible for a PGWP. Before accepting an offer/paying fees, you must check the specific program, campus, delivery format, and CIP code, along with IRCC regulations applicable at the time of your study permit application. When applying for a PGWP, students must also meet personal conditions set by the IRCC. There is no guarantee regarding PGWP duration, employment, or permanent residency.
9. Application Process
Select program/campus → check international availability, admission requirements, and PGWP eligibility → view tuition, refund policies, and plan your budget → prepare documentation → submit application via the portal designated by the college and pay fees → submit transcripts/certificates and monitor your email → accept the offer and pay required college fees → prepare your study permit and provincial documents if applicable → arrange housing, insurance, and enrollment. You must read the specific offer letter for your term regarding deposits, payment deadlines, and refund conditions.
