1. Introduction to the College

Conestoga College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach for selection is to start with your field of study and credential type, then cross-reference with entry requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and Learning Environment

Location: Kitchener-Waterloo, with campuses in Cambridge, Guelph, Brantford, Milton, and surrounding areas. As the college has multiple campuses, not every program is offered at every location. Before renting housing or booking tickets, verify the learning location and mode of delivery (in-person, hybrid, or online) on your Letter of Acceptance and the program page. Prepare a separate budget for housing, food, transportation, insurance, and costs for dependents if they are accompanying you.

3. Academic Programs

Fields of study to explore in the college’s catalog include business, technology, engineering, trades, health, community services, and applied arts. Program types include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, and graduate certificates. The overall catalog and the list open to international students may differ; you must select a program that is currently accepting applications for your intended intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you intend to transfer to a university, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For co-op, practicum, or placement, review whether it is mandatory or elective, participation conditions, and necessary documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

The college evaluates applications based on individual program standards and the equivalent qualifications of the student's home country. Applicants should cross-reference their diplomas, transcripts, prerequisite subjects (such as English, math, or science), and specific requirements listed on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant college diploma or university degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with clinical or field components may require supplemental documentation.

Prepare your passport, diplomas, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the college. Check the overall score, individual skill requirements, and certificate validity period for the specific level of study; there is no universal IELTS score for all programs. EAP/English pathways and exemption criteria must be verified separately. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or already full.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

The 2026–27 international estimator for Business Administration – Accounting (#0011), Kitchener–Doon, shows Level 1 (Fall 2026) and Level 2 (Winter 2027) tuition at 7,738.39 CAD per level, totaling 15,476.78 CAD for both levels. The total fees for two terms are listed as 10,392.75 + 9,273.75 = 19,666.50 CAD, which includes optional fees; books/supplies and living expenses must be calculated separately. The fee table does not mean the program is currently accepting applications. Official fee table.

Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living expenses. When the table lists prices per term or credit, you must sum the correct number of terms/credits for your specific pathway. Deposits are usually applied to your tuition account; read the refund policy and deadlines before payment. Tuition tags on KeyApply, where available, serve only as a relative comparison between schools, similar to the categorization of Master’s & PhD groups, and do not replace the official program fee statement.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding the program, academic year, academic performance, application records, and international student status. You must verify if each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, and check deadlines and renewal requirements. Do not consider a scholarship as guaranteed until you receive written confirmation from the college.

7. Intakes and Admission Status

Start dates and application deadlines are announced by program, not as a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing the Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer term, verify if the program is offered in that term, the campus location, document submission deadlines, and deposit deadlines. Statuses like open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will verify this again before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19376158572. You must use the DLI number and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. Being a public institution with a DLI does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before registering, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), the credential type, the mode of study, and your personal study history. Under current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree generally require CLB/NCLC 5 in all four language skills; field of study requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exemptions. Bachelor’s degree programs have their own regulations.

Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time study status, PGWP application deadlines, and online study regulations. Standalone English programs and programs offered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different rules. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are separate steps; the college does not determine permit issuance. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year term, employment, or permanent residency.

9. Application Process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your diplomas, transcripts, language certificates (if any), preferred program, intake, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, entry requirements, campuses, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare documents according to the correct checklist, including translations and supplemental materials; submit via the official admissions channel as instructed by the college.
  4. Read offer conditions, fulfill outstanding requirements, and pay the deposit by the deadline as instructed by the college.
  5. Receive your LOA, complete the PAL/TAL step if applicable, and prepare your study permit application. Immigration consulting is handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
  6. Check invoices, register for courses, arrange housing, insurance, and review orientation materials before starting your studies.
