1. Introduction to the College

Fanshawe College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is included on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach for selection is to start with your field of study and credential type, then cross-reference entry requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and Learning Environment

Location: London. As a multi-campus institution, not all programs are offered at every campus. Before renting accommodation or booking flights, confirm the study location and the mode of delivery—in-person, hybrid, or online—on your Letter of Acceptance and the program webpage. Create a separate budget for housing, meals, transportation, insurance, and costs for dependents if traveling together.

3. Academic Programs

Fields of study available in the college catalog include business, information technology, engineering, health, tourism, and media. Program types include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, bachelor's degrees, and graduate certificates. The college's overall catalog and the list open to international students may differ; you must select a program currently accepting applications for your intended intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If seeking university transfer, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. Regarding co-ops, practicums, or placements, identify whether these are mandatory or elective, the conditions for participation, and the required documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

The college evaluates applications based on individual programs and the educational equivalency of the country where studies were completed. Applicants must cross-reference diplomas, transcripts, prerequisites (such as English, math, or science), and specific requirements found on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant diploma/degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and practical programs may require supplementary documentation.

Prepare your passport, degrees, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the college. Check the total score, individual skill requirements, and the validity period of the certificate for the specific academic level; a general IELTS requirement does not apply to all programs. English/EAP pathways and exemption conditions must be verified separately. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or at capacity.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

The 2026–27 international fee schedule lists Business – Accounting (BAC2), Level 1 and Level 2, at 8,063.89 CAD per level; the total for two levels is 16,127.78 CAD in tuition, excluding ancillary fees, insurance, books, and living expenses. Other programs, campuses, and levels have their own rates. View the official fee schedule.

Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement costs, and living expenses. When the table lists prices by term or credit, you must calculate based on the total number of terms/credits in your program path. Deposits are generally applied toward your tuition account; read refund policies and deadlines before making payments. Tuition tags on KeyApply, where available, serve only for relative comparisons between schools—similar to Master's & PhD classification—and do not replace the official program fee schedule.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding programs, academic years, academic performance, applications, and international student status. Check if each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, and review deadlines and maintenance requirements. Do not consider scholarships as guaranteed funding until you receive written confirmation from the college.

7. Intakes and Admission Status

Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify if the program is offered in that term, check the campus, document submission deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended may change; KeyApply will re-verify these before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19361039982. You must use the DLI number and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. The college is a public institution, but having a DLI status does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before applying, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, review the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), as well as the credential type, delivery format, and your study history. Under current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees generally require CLB/NCLC 5 in all four language skills; program-specific requirements apply if a study permit application is submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exceptions. Bachelor's degree programs have separate regulations.

Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time study status, PGWP application deadlines, and online study regulations. Standalone English programs and programs delivered by private providers under licensing agreements have different rules. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if needed), and the study permit are distinct steps; the college does not determine permit issuance. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year term, employment, or permanent residency.

9. Application Process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your degrees, transcripts, language certificates (if any), preferred program, intended intake, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, entry requirements, campuses, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare your application according to the official checklist, including translations and supplementary documents; submit via the official admissions channel as directed by the college.
  4. Read the conditions of your offer, complete any remaining requirements, and pay the deposit by the deadline as instructed by the college.
  5. Receive your LOA, complete the PAL/TAL step if applicable, and prepare your study permit application. Immigration consulting is handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
  6. Verify your invoices, register for courses, arrange housing, insurance, and attend orientation before studies begin.
