1. Institution Introduction

Fleming College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach is to start by identifying your field of study and credential type, then cross-referencing admission requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Locations and Learning Environment

Locations: Peterborough (Sutherland Campus) and Lindsay (Frost Campus); other locations vary by program, Ontario, Canada. The international catalog currently lists intakes for January/May/September 2027 depending on the program. Compare program availability, campus, and CIP; information for private partner programs does not apply to public campuses. Before renting housing or booking flights, confirm the study location and mode of study on your LOA; prepare a separate budget for housing, transportation, and living expenses.

3. Academic Programs

Fields to explore include environmental and natural resources, skilled trades, technology, health, community services, arts, and business. The college offers certificates, diplomas, and post-graduate or other credential pathways depending on the category. Only select programs open to international students at the correct campus and intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you intend to transfer to a university, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the actual number of transferable credits. Regarding co-ops, practicums, or placements, identify whether they are mandatory or elective, the conditions for participation, and the required documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

The college assesses applications on a program-by-program basis and considers the equivalency of credentials from your country of study. Applicants must cross-reference diplomas, transcripts, prerequisites (such as English, math, or science), and specific requirements on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require an appropriate college diploma or university degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with placements may require additional documentation.

Prepare your passport, degrees, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the college. Check the total score, individual band scores, and certificate validity for your specific level of study; a generic IELTS score does not apply to all programs. English/EAP pathways and exemption conditions must be verified separately. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or at capacity.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

For example, the Fish and Wildlife Technician page lists an international tuition for 2026–2027 of 9,247 CAD per semester; two semesters total 18,494 CAD in tuition. This is an example for one program, not institution-wide pricing. Ancillary fees, insurance, books, equipment, and living expenses are calculated separately; check the table for your specific program/intake.

Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living costs. When a table lists costs by semester or credit, you must sum the correct number of semesters/credits for your pathway. Deposits are usually applied toward your tuition account; read refund conditions and deadlines before payment. Tuition tags on KeyApply, where available, only help compare relative costs between schools, similar to the Master's & PhD classification, and do not replace official program fee quotes.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding programs, academic years, academic performance, profiles, and international student status. Check if each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, and review deadlines and maintenance requirements. Do not consider a scholarship as guaranteed until you have received written confirmation from the college.

7. Intakes and Admission Status

Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general calendar for all majors. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify if the program is open for that term, the campus, document submission deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses like open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19303189722. Use this number and the appropriate campus matching your LOA when preparing your application. The institution is public, but having a DLI status does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before enrolling, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), credential type, study mode, and the applicant's study history. According to current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree generally require a CLB/NCLC 5 in all four skills; program-specific requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exemptions. Bachelor’s degree programs have separate regulations.

Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time study status, PGWP application deadlines, and online study regulations. English-as-a-second-language programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different regulations. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are separate steps; the college does not issue the permit. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year term, employment, or permanent residency.
