1. Introduction to the college
Lambton College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable selection strategy is to begin with the field of study and credential type, then verify entry requirements, campus, duration, and budget.
2. Location and learning environment
Location: Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. This page covers programs at the Sarnia campus. The current list includes Winter/Spring/Fall 2027 intakes depending on the program; Early Childhood Education is listed as open for the May intake. You must check the program and location individually; the PGWP information for Sarnia does not apply to private or partner institutions. Before renting housing or booking flights, confirm the study location and delivery format on your LOA; create a separate budget for housing, transportation, and living expenses.
3. Academic programs
Fields to explore include business and supply chain, information technology, engineering, community services, early childhood education, and health. The college offers certificates, diplomas, and post-graduate or other credential pathways depending on the category. Only select programs that are open to international students at the correct campus and intake.
Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor’s degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you intend to transfer to a university, you must verify credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For co-op, practicum, or placement, check whether it is mandatory or elective, the eligibility criteria, and the documents required.
4. Admission requirements and application
The college assesses applications on a per-program basis and according to the educational equivalence of the country where you studied. Applicants must verify their diplomas, transcripts, prerequisite subjects such as English, math, or science, and specific requirements on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant college diploma or bachelor's degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and practical programs may require supplementary documents.
Prepare your passport, diplomas, transcripts, required translations, and school-accepted language certificates. Check the total score, sub-scores, and validity period for your level of study; a general IELTS requirement does not apply to all programs. EAP/English pathways and exemption criteria must be confirmed separately. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or already at capacity.
5. International tuition and budgeting
The international Early Childhood Education page currently lists an estimated Term 1 fee of 7,743.38 CAD and Term 2 of 6,953.35 CAD; the first two terms total 14,696.73 CAD, and all four terms total 29,303.43 CAD. This table is subject to change per academic year; it does not include books, supplies, or living expenses. Fees for your specific intake must be confirmed on your offer letter. Official fee schedule.
Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living expenses. When a table lists prices per term or credit, you must calculate the total based on the number of terms/credits in your pathway. Deposits are typically applied toward your tuition balance; read the refund policy and deadlines before making any payments. Tuition tags on KeyApply, where available, serve only for relative comparisons between schools, similar to Master’s & PhD classifications; they do not replace official program fee schedules.
6. Scholarships and financial aid
Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding the program, academic year, academic performance, profile, and international student status. You must check if each award is open to international students or restricted to citizens/permanent residents, as well as submission deadlines and renewal requirements. Do not consider a scholarship confirmed until you have received official written notification from the college.
7. Intakes and admission status
Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general calendar for all majors. When selecting a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify that the program is open for that term, the specific campus, document deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will verify this again before assisting with your application.
8. DLI, study permit, and PGWP
DLI Number: O19305293332. You must use the DLI number and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. While it is a public institution, having a DLI status does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Before enrolling, verify that the program is PGWP-eligible, check the CIP code and field of study requirements if applicable, the credential type, the study format, and your study history. According to current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree generally require a language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 in all four skills; field of study requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exemptions. Bachelor’s degree programs have separate regulations.
Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time student status, PGWP application deadlines, and online learning regulations. Stand-alone English programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different regulations. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are separate processes; the college does not issue immigration permits. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, employment, or permanent residency.
