1. School Introduction

Lethbridge Polytechnic is a public post-secondary educational institution in Alberta, Canada. The school offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach for selection is to start with your field of study and the type of credential, then cross-reference entry requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and Learning Environment

Location: Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The school was formerly known as Lethbridge College. The international catalog currently lists many programs open for Fall 2027; some Winter 2027 programs are already closed. Business Administration – Accounting is noted by the school as ineligible for the PGWP, so do not choose it solely because it is a public institution. Before renting housing or booking flights, confirm the study location and mode of study on your LOA; create a separate budget for housing, transportation, and living expenses.

3. Academic Programs

Fields of study to explore include business, agriculture, information technology, engineering technology, skilled trades, health, early childhood education, community services, and environment. The school offers certificates, diplomas, and post-diploma or other credential paths depending on the catalog. Only select programs open to international students at the correct campus and intake term.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you intend to transfer to a university, you must check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the actual number of transferable credits. Regarding co-ops, practicums, or placements, verify if they are mandatory or elective, the participation requirements, and the necessary documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

Business Administration – Accounting requires Math 30-1/30-2 or equivalent; from the 2027–28 academic year, the school has announced additional requirements for English 30-1/30-2 and English language proficiency. This is an example for one program, not a general requirement for all programs.

The school assesses applications based on each specific program and the educational equivalency of the country where you studied. Applicants need to compare their graduation certificates, transcripts, prerequisite subjects such as English, math, or science, along with specific requirements listed on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant diploma/degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with clinical/practical components may require additional documentation.

Prepare your passport, academic credentials, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the school. Check the overall score, individual skill requirements, and the validity period of certificates for the appropriate level of study; do not apply a blanket IELTS score across all programs. English/EAP pathways and exemption conditions must be confirmed separately. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or full.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

The 2026–27 international table for Business Administration – Accounting estimates Year 1 tuition at 17,717 CAD, fees at 2,183 CAD, and books/supplies at 1,600 CAD; Year 2 tuition is 17,943 CAD, fees are 1,952 CAD, and books/supplies are 1,850 CAD. The 2027–28 fees will be reviewed each May; do not use the 2026–27 rates as a definitive quote for Fall 2027. Official fee source.

Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement costs, and living expenses. When the table lists prices per term or credit, you must sum the correct number of terms/credits for your specific pathway. Deposits are usually applied to the tuition account; read the refund policies and deadlines before payment. Tuition tags on KeyApply, when present, only help with relative comparisons between schools, similar to how Master's & PhD groups are categorized; they do not replace official program fee quotes.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding the program, academic year, academic performance, application status, and international student status. You must check if each award is open to international students or only to citizens/permanent residents, as well as submission deadlines and maintenance requirements. Do not consider a scholarship as guaranteed before receiving written confirmation from the school.

7. Intake Terms and Enrollment Status

Intake terms and application deadlines are announced by program, not on a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer term, verify if the program is open for that term, the campus, additional document deadlines, and the deposit due date. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will verify this again before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19391056756. You must use the DLI number and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. The school is a public institution, but having a DLI does not mean all programs are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before enrolling, verify if the program is PGWP-eligible, check its CIP code, field of study requirements if applicable, credential type, mode of study, and the applicant's study history. According to current IRCC guidance, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree generally require a CLB/NCLC level 5 in all four language skills; program-specific requirements apply for study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC terms and exceptions. Bachelor's degree programs have their own regulations.

Learners must also meet individual conditions such as program duration, full-time study status, PGWP application deadlines, and online study regulations. Programs consisting solely of English language training and programs taught by private providers under licensing agreements have different regulations. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if needed), and the study permit are separate steps; the school does not decide the issuance of permits. Studying at the school does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, employment, or permanent residency.
