4. Admission Requirements
Permanent residents, Canadian citizens, or those within the exception groups must verify requirements for each program with the Registrar. International applicants who are Indigenous Peoples for the 2026–2027 academic year are advised to contact registrarsoffice@nvit.ca to request an application package; do not follow the standard international application process without first confirming eligibility.
5. Tuition and Fees
The 2026–2027 Fees and Charges for Instruction policy sets the international rate at 409.05 CAD per credit; 30 credits are equivalent to 12,271.50 CAD before other costs. This rate applies only to eligible individuals or existing international students and does not imply that payment guarantees admission. Laboratory, studio, practical, and special program fees are charged separately.
The 0 CAD price and "Consultation Required" option on KeyApply are for requesting a consultation, not the school's tuition rate. Living expenses, books, insurance, and other costs must be calculated separately if not included in the fee schedule.
6. Scholarships and Financial Aid
NVIT offers entrance awards, year-end awards, and need-based financial aid. Many awards are tied to residency status or the Indigenous community; please confirm applicability for your specific profile.
7. Intakes and Current Admissions
There is no general promotion of international student intakes. Individuals belonging to exception groups must inquire with the school regarding programs, availability, and provincial documentation applicable to their specific case.
8. DLI and PGWP
Before submitting an application, verify the exact name of the school, campus, and program on the IRCC DLI list. Being a public institution or a DLI does not guarantee that all programs are eligible for a PGWP. Cross-reference program codes and current PGWP requirements based on your personal record.
