1. Introduction to the Institution

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is a public post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan, Canada. The school offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach is to begin by choosing a field of study and the type of credential, then cross-referencing admission requirements, campus locations, duration, and budget.

2. Location and Learning Environment

Locations: Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, and Prince Albert. For an institution with multiple locations, not every program is offered at every campus. Before signing a lease or booking flights, confirm the study location and the delivery format—in-person, hybrid, or online—as stated on your letter of acceptance and the program webpage. Budget separately for housing, food, transportation, insurance, and costs for accompanying family members.

3. Academic Programs

Fields of study available in the school's catalog include business, technology, engineering, health, community services, and trades. Program types include certificates, diplomas, and degrees. The school's overall catalog and the list open to international students may differ; you must choose a program that is currently accepting applications for your intended intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you intend to transfer to a university, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For co-ops, practicums, or placements, identify whether they are mandatory or elective, the conditions for participation, and the required documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

The institution evaluates applications based on specific program criteria and the educational equivalency of the country where you studied. Applicants must cross-reference diplomas, transcripts, and prerequisite subjects like English, math, or science with the specific requirements on the program's webpage. Post-secondary programs may require a relevant associate or bachelor's degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and clinical or practicum-based programs may require additional documentation.

Prepare your passport, degrees, transcripts, required translations, and school-accepted language certificates. Check the minimum total score, individual band requirements, and certificate validity for your level of study; a generic IELTS score does not apply to all programs. EAP/ESL pathways and certificate waiver conditions must be confirmed separately. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or at capacity.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

The 2026–27 fact sheet lists Business Diploma, Year 1 at Moose Jaw or Prince Albert: 18,592 CAD in international tuition & fees for Semesters 1–2. Books and computer hardware are estimated at an additional 3,000 CAD, bringing the total tuition/fees/supplies to 21,592 CAD; living expenses are not included. The Fall intake begins August 27, 2026; Winter intake begins January 4, 2027; fees must be confirmed per campus and intake. Official fee schedule.

Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living costs. When a table lists prices per term or per credit, you must multiply by the correct number of terms/credits in your study path. Deposits are typically applied to your tuition account; read the refund policies and deadlines before making any payments. Tuition tags on KeyApply, when available, are for relative comparison between schools, similar to the Master’s & PhD classification, and do not replace the official program cost breakdown.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding the program, academic year, academic performance, application profiles, and international student status. You must verify if each award is open to international students or limited to citizens/permanent residents, as well as checking deadlines and maintenance requirements. Do not consider scholarships as guaranteed until you have received written confirmation from the institution.

7. Intakes and Enrollment Status

Start dates and application deadlines are published for each program, not as a general calendar for all majors. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify that the program is offered in that term, the campus location, document submission deadlines, and deposit deadlines. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify these before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19425521849. You must use the DLI number and campus location corresponding to your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) when preparing your application. While it is a public institution, having a DLI does not mean all programs are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before applying, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), the credential type, the delivery format, and your study history. Under current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree generally require a CLB/NCLC 5 language level in all four skills; field of study requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exemptions. Bachelor’s degree programs have separate regulations.

Students must also meet personal conditions such as program duration, full-time enrollment status, PGWP application deadlines, and online learning regulations. Stand-alone English programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different regulations. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and the study permit are distinct steps; the institution does not grant permits. Studying at the institution does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, job placement, or permanent residency.

9. Application Process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your degrees, transcripts, language certificates (if any), desired major, intake, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, admission requirements, campuses, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare documents according to the specific checklist, including translations and supplemental materials; submit via the official admissions channel as directed by the school.
  4. Review offer conditions, complete any missing requirements, and pay the deposit on time according to the school’s instructions.
  5. Receive your LOA, complete the PAL/TAL step if applicable, and prepare your study permit application. Immigration consulting is handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
  6. Verify your invoice, register for courses, arrange housing, insurance, and attend orientation before beginning your studies.
