1. Introduction to the institution

Seneca Polytechnic is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The school offers programs for international students and is listed as a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) by the IRCC. A suitable approach is to start with the field of study and type of credential, then compare admission requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and learning environment

Location: Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. As a multi-campus institution, not all programs are offered at every location. Before signing a lease or booking a flight, confirm the location and the delivery method (in-person, hybrid, or online) on your letter of acceptance and the program page. Prepare a separate budget for housing, meals, transportation, insurance, and expenses for accompanying family members.

3. Academic programs

Fields of study available in the school's catalog include business, technology, engineering, aviation, media, and community services. Program types include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, bachelor's degrees, and graduate certificates; please check the current catalog by industry. The general catalog and the list of programs open to international students may differ; you must select a program that is accepting applications for your intended intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you intend to transfer universities, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For co-ops, practicums, or placements, identify whether they are mandatory or elective, the eligibility criteria, and the required documentation.

4. Admission requirements and application

The school reviews applications based on specific program requirements and the educational equivalency of the country where you studied. Applicants must compare their diplomas, transcripts, and prerequisite subjects (e.g., English, math, or science) with the specific requirements listed on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant college/university degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with practical components may require additional documentation.

Prepare your passport, diplomas, transcripts, required translations, and school-accepted language certificates. Check the total score, score per skill, and validity period for the specific level of study; there is no universal IELTS requirement for all programs. English pathways/EAP and exemptions must be confirmed separately. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or has reached capacity.

5. International tuition and budgeting

The 2026–2027 international table lists an Accounting diploma at 15,783 CAD for Year 1 and 16,178 CAD for Year 2. A "Year" typically consists of two semesters, unless otherwise noted in the table. Each program has its own specific rate; you must add ancillary fees and insurance as indicated on your invoice. View the official fee schedule.

Separate tuition fees from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living expenses. When rates are listed per semester or per credit, you must calculate the total based on the number of semesters/credits in your study plan. Deposits are typically applied toward your tuition balance; read the refund policy and deadlines before making payment. The "tuition tag" on KeyApply, if present, is only for relative comparison between schools, similar to Master's & PhD classifications; it does not replace the official program fee quote.

6. Scholarships and financial aid

Scholarships and awards have specific criteria regarding the program, academic year, performance, application documents, and international student status. You must verify whether each award is open to international students or restricted to citizens/permanent residents, and check deadlines and renewal requirements. Do not consider scholarships as guaranteed funding until you have received written confirmation from the school.

7. Intakes and enrollment status

Start dates and application deadlines are published per program, not as a general calendar for the entire school. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify that the program is open for that term, check the campus, additional document deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify these before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, study permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19395536013. Use this number and the campus corresponding to your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) when preparing your visa application. As a public institution, having a DLI does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before applying, check if the program is PGWP-eligible, review its CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), credential type, study format, and your academic history. According to current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree generally require a CLB/NCLC 5 language proficiency across all four skills; field of study requirements apply to study permit applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exceptions. Bachelor's degree programs have separate regulations.

Applicants must also meet personal requirements such as program duration, full-time student status, PGWP application deadlines, and online learning regulations. Standalone English programs and programs offered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different rules. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are distinct processes; the school does not determine permit eligibility. Studying at the institution does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, employment, or permanent residency.

9. Application process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your diplomas, transcripts, language certificates (if available), desired program, intake, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, admission requirements, campuses, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare your application according to the checklist, including translations and supplementary documents; submit via the official admissions channel as guided by the school.
  4. Review the offer conditions, complete any outstanding requirements, and pay the deposit on time as instructed by the school.
