1. Introduction to the College

Sheridan College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable approach is to start with your field of study and type of credential, then cross-reference entry requirements, campus, duration, and budget.

2. Location and Learning Environment

Locations: Oakville, Mississauga, and Brampton. As the college has multiple campuses, not all programs are offered at every location. Before booking accommodation or flights, confirm the study location and delivery format (in-person, hybrid, or online) on your Letter of Acceptance and the program webpage. Budget separately for housing, food, transportation, insurance, and costs for accompanying family members.

3. Academic Programs

Fields of study within the college’s catalog include arts and animation, design, business, technology, community services, and health. Program types include certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, bachelor's degrees, and graduate certificates. The college's overall catalog and the list open to international students may differ; ensure you select a program that is currently accepting applications for your intended intake.

Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If you wish to transfer to a university, check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For co-op, practicum, or placement components, verify whether they are mandatory or elective, participation requirements, and necessary documentation.

4. Admission Requirements and Application

The college assesses applications based on the specific program and the educational equivalence of the applicant's home country. Applicants must compare their diplomas, transcripts, prerequisite subjects (such as English, math, or science), and specific requirements found on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require an appropriate diploma/degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with clinical or field components may require additional documentation.

Prepare your passport, diplomas, transcripts, required translations, and language proficiency certificates accepted by the college. Check the overall score requirements, individual skill requirements, and validity periods for your specific level of study; there is no universal IELTS requirement for all programs. English/EAP pathways and exemption criteria must be confirmed individually. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if a program is competitive or has reached capacity.

5. International Tuition and Budgeting

The 2026–2027 Full-Time Fees, Year 1 table lists an international tuition of 14,702.74 CAD for a Business diploma and 17,536.80 CAD for a Computer Programming diploma. These are first-year fees for the program, excluding program fees, ancillary fees, and additional costs. These rates do not apply to every program. View the official fee table.

Separate tuition fees from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placement fees, and living expenses. When the table lists prices per term or credit, you must calculate the total based on your program's specific number of terms/credits. Deposits are typically applied to your tuition account; ensure you read the refund policy and deadlines before making any payment. Any tuition tags on KeyApply are intended for comparative purposes between institutions, similar to how Master's & PhD groups are categorized, and do not replace the program's official fee quote.

6. Scholarships and Financial Aid

The international awards page updated on August 26, 2026, mentions an International Entrance Scholarship ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 CAD depending on the standard duration of the eligible program, distributed in two installments during the first year. Specific amounts and allocation are confirmed on the Letter of Acceptance. Pathway/degree awards have their own criteria and do not automatically award the maximum amount to all applicants.

7. Intakes and Admission Status

Start dates and application deadlines are published by program, not on a general calendar for all majors. When selecting a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify if the program is offered in that term, the campus location, document submission deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify these before assisting with your application.

8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP

DLI Number: O19385946782. Use this number and the appropriate campus code from your LOA when preparing your application. While the college is public, having a DLI status does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Before enrolling, verify if the program is PGWP-eligible, check the CIP code and field of study requirements (if applicable), credential type, study format, and your personal academic history. Under current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree generally require a CLB/NCLC 5 language level in all four skills; field of study requirements apply for study permit applications submitted from November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exceptions. Bachelor's degree programs have separate regulations.

Students must also meet individual conditions such as program duration, full-time study status, PGWP application deadlines, and online learning regulations. Standalone English programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different rules. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if needed), and study permit are separate steps; the college does not determine permit issuance. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year term, employment, or permanent residency.

9. Application Process with KeyApply

  1. Submit your diplomas, transcripts, language certificates (if applicable), preferred program, intake, and budget.
  2. Compare programs currently accepting international students, entry requirements, campus, fees, and PGWP eligibility based on your profile.
  3. Prepare your application according to the checklist, including translations and supplemental documents; submit via the official admissions channel as instructed by the college.
  4. Read the offer conditions, fulfill any outstanding requirements, and pay your deposit by the deadline as instructed by the college.
  5. Receive your LOA, complete the PAL/TAL step if applicable, and prepare your study permit application. Immigration consulting is handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
  6. Verify your invoice, register for courses, arrange housing, insurance, and attend orientation before beginning your studies.
