1. School Introduction
St. Lawrence College is a public post-secondary educational institution in Ontario, Canada. The college offers programs for international students and is listed on the IRCC’s Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) list. A suitable selection strategy is to start with the field of study and the credential type, then cross-reference with admission requirements, campus, duration, and budget.
2. Location and Learning Environment
Location: Kingston, Brockville, and Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. Programs and seat availability vary between Kingston, Brockville, and Cornwall. Check the campus on your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the delivery format before making a decision. Confirm the study location and delivery format on the LOA before renting housing or booking flights; create a separate budget for housing, transportation, and living expenses.
3. Academic Programs
Fields of study to explore include business, information technology, engineering and trades, health, community services, arts, and hospitality. The college offers certificates, diplomas, and post-graduate or other credential paths depending on the category. Only select programs currently open to international students at the correct campus and intake term.
Certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, and bachelor's degrees have different levels and requirements. A graduate certificate is not a master's degree. If seeking university transfer, you must check credit transfer agreements, grade requirements, and the number of credits actually recognized. For co-op, practicum, or placement, consider whether it is mandatory or elective, the participation requirements, and necessary documentation.
4. Admission Requirements and Application
The college reviews applications based on each program and the educational equivalence of the applicant's country. Applicants must compare their diplomas, transcripts, prerequisite subjects (such as English, math, or science), and specific requirements on the program page. Post-graduate programs may require a relevant diploma/degree; arts programs may require a portfolio, audition, or interview; and programs with clinical/practical components may require additional documentation.
Prepare your passport, degrees, transcripts, required translations, and language certificates accepted by the college. Check the overall score, scores for individual skills, and certificate validity for your academic level; a blanket IELTS score does not apply to all programs. English/EAP pathways and exemption conditions must be confirmed separately. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the program is competitive or full.
5. International Tuition and Budgeting
The 2026–27 international table shows Business at Kingston, Year 1 Fall intake: tuition is 8,713.80 CAD per semester; two semesters total 17,427.60 CAD. Total tuition & fees for two semesters is 10,492.91 + 9.323,95 = 19,816.86 CAD. Ancillary and program-specific fees are listed separately in the table; books and living expenses are calculated individually. Official fee schedule.
Separate tuition from ancillary/student fees, insurance, books, equipment, uniforms, lab fees, placements, and living costs. When a table lists prices per term or credit, you must calculate the total based on the actual number of terms/credits in your pathway. Deposits are usually applied toward tuition; read the refund policy and deadlines before payment. The tuition tag on KeyApply, when present, only helps in relative comparisons between schools, similar to the Master’s & Doctoral category classification; it does not replace the program's official fee quote.
6. Scholarships and Financial Aid
Scholarships and awards have specific conditions regarding programs, academic years, academic performance, profiles, and international student status. Check whether each award is open to international students or restricted to citizens/permanent residents, and review submission deadlines and renewal requirements. Do not consider a scholarship as guaranteed until you receive written confirmation from the college.
7. Intake Terms and Admission Status
Start dates and application deadlines are announced per program, not as a general schedule for all disciplines. When choosing a Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer intake, verify that the program is open for that term, check the campus, additional document deadlines, and deposit due dates. Statuses such as open, waitlist, closed, or suspended can change; KeyApply will re-verify these before assisting with your application.
8. DLI, Study Permit, and PGWP
DLI Number: O19332845222. Use the code and campus corresponding to your LOA when preparing your application. The college is a public institution, but having a DLI status does not mean every program is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Before applying, verify if the program is PGWP-eligible, check the CIP code and field of study requirements if applicable, the credential level, delivery format, and your personal study history. Under current IRCC guidelines, college/polytechnic programs that do not grant a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree typically require a CLB/NCLC level 5 in all four language skills; program of study requirements apply when study permit applications are submitted on or after November 1, 2024, subject to IRCC conditions and exceptions. Bachelor's degree programs have their own regulations.
Learners must also meet individual conditions such as program duration, full-time study status, PGWP application deadlines, and online study regulations. Standalone English programs and programs delivered by private institutions under licensing agreements have different rules. The LOA, PAL/TAL (if required), and study permit are separate steps; the college does not issue the permit. Studying at the college does not guarantee the issuance of a PGWP, a 3-year permit, employment, or permanent residence.
