Introduction and Type
Vancouver Community College (VCC) is a public college in British Columbia. The school focuses on vocational skills and hands-on practice in classrooms, labs, and work environments. It is a choice for international students wishing to pursue vocational training or transfer programs, with requirements and costs varying by program.
Study Locations
The two main campuses in Vancouver are Downtown, near the Gastown area, and Broadway in East Vancouver, near the VCC–Clark station. The poster uses actual photos of Building B at Broadway. The location of each program must be verified in the admission profile; do not infer the study location from the representative image.
Academic Programs
Program groups include culinary arts, baking and pastry, automotive technology, technology, early childhood education, health, design, business, and university transfer. For instance, the Early Childhood Care and Education Diploma for international students spans two years at the Downtown campus, including practicums and childcare training. Some programs offer specific international cohorts; program lists and availability should be checked before applying.
Admission Requirements
There is no single IELTS score for all of VCC. Each program specifies its own academic and English language requirements. For Early Childhood Care and Education, requirements include a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, being at least 18 years old, English proficiency equivalent to English Studies 12 with a grade of C, an interview, and two letters of recommendation. After admission, there are background checks, tuberculosis screening, and immunization records required for the practicum. Vietnamese students must prepare translations and documents in accordance with the school's guidelines.
International Tuition
The Early Childhood Care and Education program page currently lists tuition at approximately 48,070 CAD for the entire two-year program, not per year. In addition, there is a 145 CAD application fee and other costs for students, facilities, insurance, U-PASS, and graduation; books and living expenses are calculated separately. The program deposit is 10,500 CAD, which is deducted from tuition; non-refundable portions and payment deadlines must be read in the Letter of Offer. The school warns that fees may increase by up to 5% per year. The "High Tuition" tag reflects this hands-on international program example and does not mean every program has the same cost. This is the rate shown as of 10/09/2026; you must obtain the correct fee schedule for your intake to finalize your budget.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
The International Regional Entrance Award ranges from 500–5,000 CAD per recipient for selected applicants in eligible programs. Academic performance, English proficiency, country/group criteria, and the number of available spots influence the results. This amount is applied to the account from the second semester; it is not automatic and is not guaranteed for all Vietnamese students. Currently enrolled students may be considered for other awards as announced by the school.
Intakes
VCC has winter, spring/summer, and fall terms, but start dates vary by program. The Availability page, updated on 10/06/2026, shows many Fall 2027 programs are still accepting applications; some Winter 2027 programs are already closed or have a waitlist. You must check the specific row for your program and term at the time of application. The Jan/May/Sep months on program pages are tentative schedules, not confirmations of seat availability.
DLI and PGWP
DLI: O19279717512, verified by IRCC under the Public institution category. The admissions page clearly distinguishes between PGWP Eligible and Not PGWP Eligible programs; for example, University Transfer Arts, Music, and Legal Administrative Assistant are noted as ineligible on the current table. You cannot apply the status of one program to the entire school. In addition to the appropriate program/CIP, students must also meet IRCC requirements regarding the study process, mode of study, language, documentation, and timing of application. KeyApply does not guarantee PGWP, employment, or immigration.
Application Process
1. Choose an international program and check Availability. 2. Verify academic, English, and practicum requirements. 3. Submit an application according to VCC's "How to Apply" section, along with official records and the application fee. 4. Upon receiving an offer, check the deposit, conditions, refund policy, and payment deadlines. 5. Complete the LOA/PAL process if applicable, then prepare the study permit application according to IRCC. 6. Monitor deadlines for study permit proof, insurance, and orientation instructions. Receiving an offer does not mean you have a study permit.
