C18 – Work Permit under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
A work permit for applicants supported by an employer to work in the Atlantic provinces through the AIP.
Target audience and key requirements
- Possess a job offer from a designated employer and a provincial work permit support letter.
- Meet language, education, and experience requirements, or qualify for the AIP graduate exemption.
- Apply online; an initial permit can be submitted before PR while the endorsement is valid.
Documents to prepare
Support letter, endorsement, job offer, IMP offer number, language proficiency, education/ECA, and work experience.
Points to note
A designated employer and job offer are insufficient without provincial support. For extensions, check the validity of the endorsement/PR and the new IMP offer.
LMIA exemption still requires meeting the work permit eligibility criteria. Work permits and permanent residency are processed separately.
