C20 – Reciprocal employment
For employment in Canada that creates or maintains reciprocal opportunities for Canadian citizens/permanent residents abroad.
Key target groups and conditions
- Possess a job offer and evidence of reciprocal employment opportunities.
- Exchange does not require a one-for-one basis, but must be reasonably balanced.
- Meet professional requirements and licensing if applicable.
Required documents
Exchange agreement, letter from the receiving organization, personnel data, and international transfer policies.
Important notes
A job offer alone is not sufficient to prove C20 LMIA exemption.
LMIA-exempt applicants must still meet work permit requirements. Work permits and permanent residency are assessed separately.
