CUKTCA – Work Permit under the Canada–UK Agreement

LMIA-exempt category under the agreement between Canada and the UK.

Target audience and key requirements

  • Determine nationality/status recognized by the agreement before assessment.
  • F60: independent professionals; F66: contractual service suppliers; F67: technologists. F61/F62/F63: ICT; F64: ICT spouse; F65: investors.
  • Meet specific requirements regarding occupation, qualifications, contracts, trade/investment, or corporate affiliation.

Required documents

Passport, job offer, contract, CV, qualifications/licenses, and evidence of business as per the applicable category.

Important notes

Simply living in or holding a visa for the UK does not automatically qualify you. Work permits and Permanent Residence (PR) are assessed based on individual criteria.

LMIA exemption still requires meeting the eligibility criteria for a work permit. Work permits and permanent residency are assessed separately.
