H82 – Work Permit for holders of a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP)
For individuals holding a TRP issued under A24 who lack the means to support themselves.
Primary target audience and eligibility
- TRP valid for at least 6 months.
- Proof of inability to support oneself without working.
- Meeting all other non-exempt work permit requirements.
Required documents
TRP, passport, bank statements, living expenses, and evidence of support sources.
Important notes
A TRP is distinct from a visitor visa/TRV or a visitor record; having a visitor visa does not mean you qualify under H82.
Being LMIA-exempt does not waive other work permit eligibility requirements. Work permits and permanent residency are assessed separately.
