BC PNP – Health Authority stream

The Health Authority stream is a provincial nomination category for candidates with eligible job offers and support from a public health authority in British Columbia. The program includes an Express Entry BC (EEBC) option for those who also meet federal Express Entry requirements.

Key Requirements

• A full-time, indeterminate job offer from a B.C. health authority employer in an occupation currently listed as Health Authority-eligible.
• Support from an authorized official at the health authority and a completed Employer Declaration Form.
• Meeting the experience, education, and professional requirements of the BC PNP, the occupation, and the hiring health authority.
• Possessing required licensure or registration for the occupation; meeting language, salary, and family income requirements.

Not all jobs at a hospital or care facility are eligible. Job offers from private clinics do not automatically meet health authority employer criteria. Exceptions and occupation-specific requirements must be checked against the Skills Immigration Program Guide.

Express Entry BC Option

To use the EEBC option, candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile, meet the requirements for CEC, FSWP, or FSTP, and satisfy the Health Authority stream criteria. Federal language proficiency minimums must still be met, even if the provincial minimum is lower. Not all Health Authority candidates are eligible for EEBC.

Nominations granted via EEBC and accepted in a federal profile provide an additional 600 CRS points. IRCC still makes the final decision on PR; a nomination does not automatically grant or extend a work permit.

Preparation and Process

1. Verify the health authority, NOC code, job offer, and employer support.
2. Prepare professional credentials, experience, language test results, and Express Entry profile if choosing EEBC.
3. Apply via the Health Authority process in BC PNP Online according to current instructions.
4. If nominated, proceed with the permanent residence application based on the type of nomination received.

The Skills Immigration application fee is currently 1,750 CAD; the request for review fee is 500 CAD. IRCC fees and professional service fees are calculated separately.
