KeyApply is accepting applications from Nurses interested in foot care positions at a clinic in Ontario. The RN or RPN position will be determined based on the candidate's professional license and the clinic's specific requirements.

Recruitment Information

  • Location: Southwestern Ontario area, outside the GTA; the specific address will be discussed with qualified candidates.
  • Position: Foot Care Nurse.
  • Accommodation support is available for candidates residing far away. The form of support, costs, and terms will be discussed specifically with the candidate.
  • Salary, working hours, contract, and start date: will be discussed with qualified candidates.
  • Work permit application support is available for suitable candidates; the plan and conditions will be assessed based on each individual profile.
  • As confirmed by KeyApply, the business currently meets the criteria for OINP employers. No guarantees for permanent residency are made as policies are subject to change.

Qualified Candidates

Candidates must hold a valid, active professional registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) to practice as an RN or RPN in Ontario. A nursing degree obtained abroad does not automatically permit practice in Ontario.

Preference is given to candidates with previous foot care training or experience. Candidates without a Foot Care certificate may still submit an application for consideration, but they must proactively register for, complete the training, and obtain the appropriate Foot Care certificate before the required deadline. Pursuing and supplementing the certificate is the candidate's responsibility; the clinic does not organize or sponsor training.

Nail/pedicure experience is an asset.

Guidelines for Obtaining a Foot Care Certificate

Candidates without a foot care certificate may consider the options below. Candidates must research, register, and pay for tuition themselves, and take full responsibility for completing the course and obtaining the certificate. The information below is for reference only and does not constitute a course organized or partnered by the clinic. Candidates should verify that the certificate meets job requirements before registering.

1. AFCN Learning Institute – Advanced Foot Care Nurse Course

  • Format: Self-paced online theory, combined with 3 days of in-person clinical practice.
  • Clinical practice locations in Ontario: Include Toronto, London, Burlington/Hamilton, and other network locations. Please confirm available locations and schedules before registering.
  • Prerequisites: Valid nursing license and good standing; the institute also accepts nursing students with proof of enrollment in an accredited program. Requirements should be confirmed for each individual profile.
  • Content: Foot assessment, nail and callus care, diabetic foot care, infection control, and documentation.
  • Listed price: $1,950; please clarify currency, taxes, equipment, and inclusions.
  • All theory and practical components must be completed within 1 year to receive a certificate of completion.
  • Official course information

2. St. Clair College - Basic and Advanced Foot Care for RN/RPNs

Advanced Foot Care (RGN 140N) is a 3-day in-person course; requires an RN/RPN designation, CNO registration number, and completion of Basic Foot Care (RGN 135N). Those who have not studied foot care should ask the college about the route of taking Basic first, then Advanced.

At the time of checking, the Advanced page did not show registerable classes. Please contact Continuing Education to confirm schedules, locations, tuition, and certificates provided: coned@stclaircollege.ca or 519-972-2711.

A foot care certificate does not replace RN/RPN registration with the CNO. Candidates must meet professional practice and competency requirements before being assigned clinical duties.

Training information checked on October 11, 2026; schedules, tuition, and admission requirements are subject to change.

Express Entry: Advantages for the Nursing Profession

Occupation Group NOC / TEER
Registered Nurse (RN) 31301 / TEER 1
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), part of Licensed Practical Nurses 32101 / TEER 2

Both occupational groups are listed under the Express Entry Healthcare and social services category. Current experience requirements: at least 12 months of full-time or equivalent part-time work within the last 3 years, in the same occupation from the list; can be in Canada or abroad and does not need to be continuous. Candidates must still qualify for an Express Entry program and meet invitation round guidelines. This provides an additional opportunity for category-based selection; it does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA) or PR.

Qualifying Canadian work experience can improve CRS scores. As of March 25, 2025, job offers no longer provide an additional 50 or 200 CRS points.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Pathway

Legal, paid employment in Canada can help candidates qualify for CEC after at least 1 year of eligible experience within the last 3 years, equivalent to 1,560 hours; only a maximum of 30 hours/week is counted. Working more hours does not reduce the time requirement to under one year. Self-employment and experience gained while studying full-time usually do not count.

CEC language thresholds: RNs in TEER 1 require CLB/NCLC 7; RPNs in TEER 2 require CLB/NCLC 5, in all four skills. These are eligibility thresholds, not a guarantee of an invitation.

Candidates Outside of Canada

Candidates with foreign nursing experience may be assessed under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) to enter Express Entry before gaining Canadian experience. This requires checking experience, language skills, education/ECA, selection points, and other conditions. Immigration eligibility and Ontario practice eligibility are assessed separately.

Ontario Nomination Opportunities

As confirmed by KeyApply, the business currently meets the criteria for OINP employers. Candidates and job positions must still be assessed individually according to the applicable program, including the job offer, professional license, and related requirements. Meeting business criteria does not guarantee that a candidate will be invited, nominated, or granted PR. KeyApply and the business do not guarantee immigration outcomes; policies, quotas, and selection criteria are subject to change.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is accommodation support provided for candidates from afar?

Yes. The clinic provides accommodation support for candidates from afar. The form of support, costs, and terms will be discussed specifically with the candidate before employment.

Does a job offer guarantee PR?

No. Even if the business currently meets OINP criteria, the candidate must still meet individual requirements and be approved by the relevant authorities. No immigration outcome is guaranteed as policies, quotas, and selection criteria are subject to change.

Can I apply without CNO registration?

You may submit an application for preliminary consideration, but you must hold the appropriate professional license before performing nursing duties in Ontario. Candidates must independently complete the CNO registration procedure; accepting an application without CNO registration does not constitute permission to practice.

Does the clinic support work permits?

Yes. The clinic supports work permit applications for suitable candidates. Specific plans are assessed based on the residency status, professional license, and individual conditions of each candidate. Application support does not guarantee the issuance of a work permit or PR.

What documents are needed for assessment?

CV; CNO status; foot care certificates/experience; work history; language test results; degrees/ECA if available; current Canadian permit status and expiry.

KeyApply assists with recruitment connection and preliminary preparation. Immigration file assessment and processing are handled by an RCIC or lawyer.
