CETA – Work Permit under the Canada–EU Agreement
LMIA-exempt streams under CETA are assessed based on nationality, professional status, and business activities.
Key Eligibility and Conditions
- T46: investors; T47: contractual service suppliers; T43: independent professionals; T48: engineering/scientific technologists.
- T44/T41/T42: ICT managers, specialists, and graduate trainees.
- T45: eligible ICT spouses; occupations and contract sources must be verified against the appropriate appendix.
Required Documentation
Passport, service/investment contract, corporate relationship, professional degrees, and licenses.
Important Considerations
Not automatically applicable to EU visa holders or permanent residents; eligibility of nationality must be verified.
LMIA exemption still requires meeting work permit issuance criteria. Work permits and permanent residency are processed separately.
