Research-based and professional programs

MA, MSc, MEd research routes, and many PhDs have tuition calculated per term. Programs such as MBA, MAcc, MEd course-based, and Master of Applied Data Science have tuition structures based on credits and are generally more expensive. Therefore, clients need to clearly distinguish between program types before comparing tuition fees.

International tuition 2026–2027

• MA/MSc/MBE/MS/MEd research route and many PhD Arts/Science groups: approximately CAD 2,779.91 in tuition per term according to the Fall/Winter 2026 schedule.

• Minimum GPA and prerequisites vary by major.
• English proficiency if applicable.
• CV, statement of intent, references, and research proposal may be required.
• Research-based programs require attention to supervisor/research fit.

Funding

Research Master's and PhD programs are usually more worth considering if the candidate requires funding, as there may be graduate fellowships, teaching/research assistantships, and supervisor funding. Professional/course-based programs have different funding models and one should not assume similar support.

Considerations

• Tuition varies significantly between research and professional programs.

• Do not use a single tuition rate for the entire university.
